Karitka
Double consciousness: the feeling of perpetual inbetweeness, of being within and without. It’s not know where your body fits in either place that you call home. Kartika is the space I’ve taken to reflect on my own inbetweeness in this moment, as a young South Indian woman.

This project was inspired by discussions with artist Pyaari Azaadi (formerly Jaishri Abichandini). The compositions blend images from her "One Night in New York" series with personal archival photographs from my own family, alongside symbolic Indian visuals.

Created during my time at Third Eye Collective’s Studio 3 Fellowship under the mentorship of Augustus Cook.
